Handcrafted Wooden Serving Tray with Kalighat Art

The tray is made of wood and painted by hand in the Kalighat folk idiom, a tradition carried forward by artisans of West Bengal. Because every piece is worked by hand, the detailing varies from tray to tray, and colours sit bright against the wood.

It is light to carry and sturdy enough for daily use, so it moves easily from kitchen to table with tea, coffee, dry fruits, appetisers or dessert. Set down empty on a console or side table, it reads as a decorative panel instead. One tray is included.

To clean, wipe with a soft dry cloth, or one that is barely damp. The wood should not be soaked, and long spells of moisture are best avoided.
