Himachali Handcrafted Silver-Plated Filigree Bangle

A traditional filigree bangle, or kada, worked in silver-plated metal alloy by artisans in Himachal Pradesh. The band carries intricate openwork filigree, with a hand-enamelled central panel of deep blue and green floral motifs drawn from Himalayan flora. The surface is hand-polished and finely textured.

Small silver ghungroos hang from the bangle and move as the wrist moves; in traditional Himachali attire they stand for celebration, grace and femininity. A traditional lock mechanism keeps it secure on the wrist and makes the fit adjustable, so the bangle sits as free size.

The inner diameter measures roughly 6.0 to 6.2 cm and the width 3.5 to 4.0 cm. Medium in weight, it is made for long hours of wear and is traditionally worn at weddings, festivals and cultural gatherings, alone or layered with other bangles.
