Karnataka Handpainted Ardhanarishvara Acrylic Canvas Painting (13.5 × 23 Inches)

Ardhanarishvara, the composite form of Shiva and Parvati, is painted here in acrylic on canvas, a single vertical panel measuring 13.5 × 23 inches. The subject stands for the union of the two deities and, as the tradition holds, for the balance between masculine and feminine energies, and for harmony, strength and spiritual enlightenment.

The work is entirely handmade and handpainted by traditional artisans in Karnataka, so the detailing on each piece differs slightly from the next. It suits a living room wall, a pooja room or meditation corner, or an office, and is often chosen for housewarmings, weddings, anniversaries and festive occasions.

Keep the canvas away from direct moisture and water, dust it gently with a soft dry cloth, and avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners.
