Authentic Handmade Dashavatar Pattachitra Painting | 13 × 13 Inches

A square panel, 13 × 13 inches, carrying the Dashavatar: the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu, each rendered in the folk idiom of Pattachitra, the scroll-painting tradition of Odisha. The figures are worked entirely by hand by master artisans following long-established methods of the craft.

Colour comes from mineral pigments of natural origin, laid down with brushes made of fine animal hair, which is what allows the close detailing across a surface this size. As the vendor describes it, the Dashavatar stands for divine protection, righteousness and the unending cycle of dharma.

Each piece is made by hand, so small variations between paintings are part of the work rather than a flaw.
