Lord Jagannath Pattachitra Painting

A depiction of Lord Jagannath rendered in Pattachitra, the temple painting tradition of Odisha. The work measures 24 × 40 inches and carries the intricate folk motifs associated with the form, painted entirely by hand using traditional techniques.

The colours come from natural mineral pigments, applied with fine animal hair brushes. Each line and detail is drawn by hand, so the finished piece reflects the pace and judgement of the artisan who painted it rather than any mechanical process.

At this size it suits a wall in a living room, a pooja room or another space kept for quiet, and works equally as a gift. Every purchase supports the artisans who continue to practise this craft.
