Handcrafted Himachali Chandarhaar

The Chandarhaar is a traditional long necklace worn by Himachali women at weddings, festivals, folk dances and fairs. This one is handcrafted by artisans in Himachal Pradesh using age-old metalworking techniques, in silver-plated alloy with an oxidised silver finish. Layered bead strands sit above a statement central pendant in the iconic triangular design, with enamel detailing inspired by Himalayan art and dangling elements that catch the movement of the wearer.

The necklace measures 22–24 inches (56–61 cm), with a pendant 5–6 inches long including danglers and 3–3.5 inches wide, giving a total drop of 9–10 inches from the neckline. Within the Himachali metalwork tradition, the form stands for prosperity, strength and cultural identity. Slight variations between handcrafted pieces are normal.
