Kashmiri White Shawl with Aari Embroidery

A white shawl in semi pashmina, worked in Aari embroidery by artisans in Jammu & Kashmir. Floral patterns run across the pristine white ground in contrasting coloured threads, so the design reads clearly against the pale base.

A golden thread-work border finishes the edges, and the hand thread work continues throughout the shawl rather than sitting only at the ends. Each piece takes about two months of work to complete. It comes in a standard size and drapes softly.
