The katar is held differently from most daggers: the grip sits crosswise, so the blade extends straight from the fist. This one follows that traditional Rajput form, with a wide grip span of 3.3 inches that gives it the proportions of the daggers carried by Rajput and Maratha warriors. The blade is carbon steel, and the sheath is rexin over a wood base.
It measures 11 inches with the sheath and 9 inches without, and weighs 800 grams, with a solid, balanced construction. Handcrafted in Punjab using traditional Indian metalworking techniques, it is made for display, tradition and ceremonial use.
Collectors keep it as a display piece; others carry it with wedding and ceremonial attire, or choose it for cultural gifting and heritage décor. The form stands for courage and martial heritage, and for India's long history of metalwork.
